Trevor's Story

My name is Trevor Cobb, and I have been a small business owner for over fourteen years. I was born and raised in Southern Berkshire County. I Graduated with honors from Mount Everett Regional High School in 2006. I attended Motorcycle Mechanics Institute(MMI) in Phoenix Arizona where I graduated in the fall of 2008. Moving back home, I got married to my highschool sweetheart, and we had a son, Treyson who unfortunately passed away at 8 days old. All the while I was working numerous side jobs while preparing to open my own business. Naming the shop in my son’s memory, I opened Treyson Racin’ Powersports in the spring of 2010. I followed my childhood dream to be self employed and to work on and be around my favorite hobby, powersports.

As Mark Twain once said, “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” I am living proof that he was spot on! To this day I haven’t felt like I've had a job. The shop is located on South Main Street in Great Barrington Mass. At the shop I work on motorcycles, ATVs, dirtbikes, scooters, watercraft, etc and I also sell parts, accessories, and apparel for them. I am a Massachusetts licensed motorcycle inspection station through the RMV as well.

In February 2019, I was involved in a dirt bike accident out in California while on vacation with my family. The accident left me with 7 broken ribs, a shattered sternum, a punctured lung, a hyperextended neck, a broken back, and a thoracic spinal cord injury causing complete paralysis from the chest down. While in the hospital for weeks, I was working on a computer remotely keeping the business going. The nurses and therapists would come in the room and get mad that I wasn't relaxing and rehabbing, but rather trying to work. I kept reiterating that this business is my life. I got discharged from the rehab hospital in California on Friday April 19th, flew home, and was working at the shop on Monday April 22nd.

And working every day ever since!

In the Spring of 2020, I met the love of my life, Ciera. At the time, Ciera was working as a pharmacy technician in New York, but she quickly transformed from that into a "do it all" mechanic and the legs of Treyson Powersports. Ciera has become my partner in everything, and I would not be where I am today without her constant love and support. Ciera is there for me always, through the fun days and the hard days, including working long hours with me at the shop- even throughout her pregnancy!

In February of 2024 our family of two
grew, when we welcomed our baby girl, Cali Mae into the world. Cali is an on the go shop baby, who goes where we go even if that means working six days a week.

Last but not least, here are the real Treyson Powersports employees who make it all happen, Jake & his (big) little brother Gunner.

I feel so grateful for everything that I have, and want to do all that I can to help others know they can do it too.
